Destination Highlights: Sleep like a king at the Royal Room

If you’re looking to stay in a hanok-style accommodation, but want the comforts of a regular bed, there’s a place in Jeonju not far from the hanok village. As part of our weekend in Jeonju, we were staying in the Royal Room.
Checking in was a straightforward process, we had to have our temperature taken and scan our QR code before getting our key cards. Each of the two-story hanok buildings has four private rooms. Arriving in the evening, the way that the hanoks were lit up reminded me of the hanok village.
The rooms themselves were very spacious and comfortable with separate rooms for the shower and toilet. There was also a nice TV in the room, but after a long day of activities, I was pretty tired. After a nice warm shower, it didn’t take long to fall asleep.
Waking up the next morning, I had a great view of the surrounding mountains. Being away from cities like Seoul or Daejeon, it was nice to wake up in such a peaceful place. It’s one of the reasons I really enjoy visiting Jeonju. You can experience traditional Korea and not have to travel many hours from Seoul to experience it.
The next morning, we headed over to the restaurant located right at the hotel and had a traditional Korean breakfast of Kongnamulguk and rice. They also had a more Western style of breakfast with cereal, toast, and other items as well.

The room we stayed in was about 150,000 won per night and was good for individuals or couples. They also have larger rooms for families as well. As part of our weekend in Jeonju, the program covered the costs of our stay, but we weren’t instructed to give a review on the accommodations or given specific talking points. I genuinely enjoyed my stay at the Royal Room and I’ll leave the contact information for the hotel below if you’re interested in checking it out. These are not affiliate links, they’re the direct links to their website for more information and I’ll also link their sns page as well.
