Top Cherry Blossom Places in Seoul

Top cherry blossom places in Seoul – the cherry blossoms in Korea came early this year and it was hard to reach all of them before they disappeared. It was hard to choose my favorite places, but here are a few of the places in Seoul where you can check out the cherry blossoms.
Top cherry blossom places in Seoul – Han River
On both sides of the Han River, you’ll find cherry blossoms in one of the many riverside parks. The best way to hit up the different parks is to rent a bike. While you’re here, you can also enjoy a picnic along the river. Why not try some Korean fried chicken or have some ramyun? At the major parks, you can find a convenience store that has a wide selection of snacks, food, and drinks. Some people will also have food delivered with apps like Yogiyo and Coupang Eats.
Changdeokgung Palace
While Gyeongbokgung tends to be the more popular, Changdeokgung is a popular place to check out cherry blossoms and other spring trees and flowers.
Typically, there are tours for the Secret Garden, occasionally they allow you to walk freely inside to take in the different views.
Seonyudo Park
Seonyudo Park sits on an island right on the Han River. The park was converted from a filtration plant and has several different walking paths and outdoor spaces within the island.
You can get a great view of the Han River from here and there are facilities such as the Seoul Design Gallery and a botanical garden. Getting there can be a little tricky, but the closest stop is Seonyudo Station (Line number 9).
National Assembly
Near the National Assembly complex is the location of the annual Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival. These cherry trees were imported from Jeju Island and the city typically closes off the street for visitors to enjoy.
In 2021 the cherry blossoms came much earlier, and along with a few days of rain, the cherry blossoms were around for only a short time. Luckily there are many other flowers that you can enjoy such as azaleas, spireas, and forsythias if you miss out on the cherry blossoms.
Namsan Tower
Another great spot to check out the cherry blossoms while also getting a workout is to hike up the Namsan part of the Seoul City Wall. You’ll get to see the cherry blossoms in the foreground of Namsan Tower and can enjoy some coffee or food once you get to the top. When you’re ready to head back down, you can take the cable car to reserve some of your energy.
